I write about Promoting your UK Blog and about Marketing your UK Blog. I have even created seperate categories for them. I think now is a good time, for the purpose of clarity when reading The UK Bloggers Guide, to explain what I consider to be the differences between Marketing your Blog and Promoting your Blog.
Marketing your Blog is any activity you undertake to promote or publicise your blog as a whole, at the domain level.
Whereas Promoting your Blog is all of the smaller, but no less important activities you can undertake to promote individual sections of your blog, such as categories and posts.
There are some great free blog tools, widgets and plugins out there, designed to make promoting your blog posts and blog categories a breeze. These are reason that I think it's important to differentiate between Promoting your UK Blog and about Marketing your UK Blog.
