A neat guide to using the Google Adsense competitive ad filter tool has just been published. The tool was originally created to allow us to stop our competitors ads from appearing on our blogs and websites, but it's equally effective in removing the junk ads that are irrelevant or provide absolutely no value to your readers.

Also worth mentioning is http://www.adsblacklist.com/, a great tool for providing you with a list of known junk advertisers that you simply copy over to your competive ad filter.
