16 hours of BlogRush - Initial Reaction is Poor

I'm of the opinion that BlogRush is going to turn out to be 'Sidebar Fodder' at worst, or a fancy 'Banner Exchange' at best.

You know the sort of thing I mean, you show my banner, I'll show yours, but no one actually clicks them.

My BlogRush Data
So 16 hours of using BlogRush and I've displayed the BlogRush widget 3650 times on my blogs.

This doesn't mean that my headlines have been shown 3650 times on other blogs, no. Right now I'm sat on 3386 "credits".

It's not clear how I spend these to have my headlines shown on other blogs. I'm guessing it's automated and they'll just be used over time. It's also dependent on the number of bloggers using BlogRush.

Of the 264 times that headlines from my blogs have been shown, they have generated ZERO visitors, but you wouldn't expect it to from just 264.

Sure there's a whole lot of things I can do to improve the click through rate. Short, snappy, '3 word' headlines etc, but I risk losing my regular readers that enjoy my style of writing (yes there are one or two), if I start changing the way I blog.

I'm watching this like a hawk. I'll keep you posted.

UPDATE : One thing that certainly won't help improve my initital reaction to BlogRush is the 'technical issue' they're currently experiencing. Read more

Ah, yet another case of 0 or 1 click through with blogrush, so far from the people actually giving out the figures that's all I've heard so I don't think it just got to do with post titles to be honest.

Let's be honest, do you click on sidebar widgets yourself? I know I don't and there's a lot of others like me.

Link exchange services simply are a thing of the past, stuffing it into a nice widget won't make it much better.
